Renshi Dave Geneau

Renshi Dave has been Kyoshi Scott’s right-hand man at Fighting Griffin for over 24 years. He holds advanced black belts in both styles of martial arts taught by our school.

Renshi Stephanie Geneau

Renshi Stephanie has been training with Kyoshi Scott for over 21 years. Her energy and focus always sets the tone for the class she teaches, while her drive and knowledge inspires her students to strive for better whenever she is on the floor. Renshi Stephanie holds an advanced black belt in Okinawan Go Ju karate.

Renshi Tammy Hogarth

Renshi Tammy has been training with Kyoshi Scott for over 17 years, and teaching for over 10 years. Renshi Tammy runs the kids programs and also teaches adult classes. In addition, Renshi organises club events such as our annual Kagami Biraki (Demonstration and Awards Day) and Halloween party, and keeps Fighting Griffin running smoothly. A strong tournament competitor, she holds a 5th Dan black belt in Okinawan Go Ju Ryu karate.

Sensei Vi Sadler

Sensei Vi holds a 3rd Dan black belt in Go Ju Ryu karate and has been training with Fighting Griffin for over 13 years. She teaches both adult and high belt classes with both patience and discipline. Sensei Vi often welcomes our new students and provides personal attention during those all-important first few classes until the student is comfortable joining the others.

Sensei James Slote

Sensei James has been studying Go Ju for over 13 years at Fighting Griffin. He teaches both kids and adult classes at the school. Visitors and new students often notice his passion for Go Ju when you find him practicing kata and bunkai before class.  These are also his favourite topics to teach. Sensei James holds a 3rd Dan black belt in Okinawan Go Ju Ryu.

Sensei Tracey Tallyn

Sensei Tracey has been studying Go Ju for over 12 years at Fighting Griffin. She teaches both kids and adult classes at the club, including our Grasshopper program for kids 5 years old. Also, her ability to motivate and organise groups of our students for public demonstrations is greatly appreciated by our Demo Team. Sensei Tracey holds a 3rd Dan black belt in Go Ju Ryu karate.

Sensei Heath Gaskin

Sensei Heath holds a black belt in Hap Ki Jitsu from Fighting Griffin. He has been training with Kyoshi Scott for over 10 years. Sensei Heath has been teaching our Hap Ki Jitsu adult program for over 3 years, and the class size has grown under his leadership. A teacher with passion and discipline, his enthusiasm for martial arts inspires not only Hap  Ki Jitsu students at the club, but the Go Ju students as well.
